The hotel was relaxing and the location was marvellous right by the beach, Ribeira Grande historic center and bus stop to Ponta Delgada and an island and the center of the island. The venue was located in the middle of the city. Plus, Ponte dos Oito Arcos was a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel.

Great location right in the middle of everything. 👍 Everything is up-to-date and just a 21-minute drive to the airport. the staff here are really friendly and always ready to lend a hand.

The Areal De Santa Barbara Guest House was such a delight to stay in. The hosts, Joao and Suseta, were incredibly nice and welcoming. The whole place was beautifully furnished, providing a warm and cozy atmosphere. As a senior woman, I found the accommodation to be very accessible, with everything conveniently located on the ground floor. The kitchen was spotlessly clean and well-equipped, making it easy for me to cater for myself. If I ever needed any recommendations for restaurants or places to visit, Joao and Suseta were always there to help. They truly did a fantastic job!

The only thing that I would suggest for a better vacation experience for senior people is for the staff to be a bit more mindful and considerate. Although everyone working there was friendly, sometimes I felt that they could have been a little more attentive to the needs of us senior guests.

This guest house is in a fantastic location. It is really close to a beautiful beach where you can relax and enjoy the sun. It is also conveniently located near a highway, making it easy to explore both sides of the island without wasting time. the rooms are clean and basic, with some even offering a sea view and balcony. the owner is very friendly and goes out of his way to ensure guests have a great experience.

The shared bathroom can sometimes be busy, and it would have been more convenient to have a private bathroom.

Great amenities with fridges and full kitchen facilities, which saved us from eating out every night. The room had a balcony to sit out on in the evenings, offering a lovely view. The location was fantastic for traveling around the island, making it easy to explore different areas.

There were some drawbacks to our stay. The cleanliness of the room was not up to par, as we noticed stains on the bedsheets upon arrival.

I always come back to this place in Ribeira Grande. The staff helped me find my way to where I needed to go on my first stay. It has everything I need - Wi-Fi, off-site car park, luggage storage, and a locker room.

The location was perfect, with the beach, historic center, and bus stop all within walking distance. The hosts, Susete and Joao, were incredibly welcoming and passionate about the Azores. They provided us with valuable tips and secrets of the island and were always available when needed. I can't wait to come back to the Azores and stay at this wonderful guest house again!
